| Program Philosophy |
 |
| YMCA Child Care is about the basics in life: trust, caring, learning, comfort and safety. Families trust YMCA Child Care to provide their children with the same things the YMCA has been providing for years, the opportunity to develop a healthy spirit, mind and body. YMCA Child Care is designed to encourage children to build healthy, happy attitudes and to acquire competencies and skills through a variety of work and play experiences. We help children develop a positive self-image, foster a joy of learning, to expand understanding and assist children in forming rewarding social relationships. At YMCA Child Care, your child will develop the skills they need in a supportive and fun environment. |
Age-Approprate Programs
Infants and Toddlers - (6 weeks-2 years)
Babies love the bright, safe, stimulating atmosphere of our infant center. Staff with specialized training in early brain development provide a warm, nurturing environment where your infant will receive special individual attention, which builds affection and trust. A wide variety of age-appropriate activities and toys help your baby develop skills and provide you with peace of mind when you're away.
Transitional Twos - (2-3 years)
Our transitional program provides the new experiences two-year-olds thrive on: taking part and putting together, mixing and matching, filling and emptying, sorting and building. Our programs also emphasize large motor play inside & outside, to promote coordination and strength in growing bodies. Our staff will provide the praise and individual attention your child needs to develop a positive sense of self and others in these early years.
Pre-Kindergarten - (3-6 years)
YMCA preschool encourages children to be creative, whether composing a refrigerator masterpiece, playing a musical instrument, singing songs or planting seeds and watching them grow. Our developmentally appropriate programs offer preschoolers the opportunity to make new friends and develop self-confidence in a sharing atmosphere. Special enrichment programs offer classroom experiences for the preschool age child.
School Age - (5-12 years)
What are your kids doing after school? At the YMCA School Age Program, kids build self-esteem, values and leadership skills. You’ll know they’re growing and exploring their potential; they’ll think they’re just having fun. The YMCA offers School Day Out Care; “Vacation Days” for full-days off school at the YMCA. Afterschool Sites are available at various schools within the YMCA of the Fox Cities.
