Falls Prevention Awareness Week

Do you find yourself feeling unsteady or that you’re starting to fear falling as you age? Did you know there are exercise programs that help improve balance, strength and flexibility? See how you can stay strong and find an exercise that works for you at the Y!

During Falls Prevention Week, we will offer a variety of classes and educational opportunities to help you feel more confident, improve balance, muscle strength and flexibility and teach you how to prevent falls at home and when you are out and about.

Falls Prevention Week: Balance Workshop

Friday, September 25 | 12:30-1:30 PM

Stay steady, strong, and confident in your daily movements with this engaging balance workshop designed specifically for older adults. In recognition of Falls Prevention Week, this supportive session focuses on improving stability, coordination, and overall mobility through simple, evidence-based exercises. Presented by Physical Therapists Jenn Oberg and Emory Weeden from PT Solutions.

In this presentation, you will learn some of the causes of falls, how to fall, and how to get back up if you do fall. Led by Kaelyn Wagner physical therapist with AdvancedPT, you will learn tips to prevent falls, as well as balance and strength exercises to aid in fall prevention.
